My name is Raquel, and I grew up in the Dominican Republic, a beautiful island with the most amazing food, always fresh, full of seasoning and infused with lots of love. Food for me is more than just a way to fill our belly, and have more energy. I view food and the process of preparing a meal as a celebration. There is nothing better than a nutritious meal, which is prepared with love and the intention to nourish our body, mind and soul. Through my training at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and the practices I have applied in my daily life, I learned to approach nutrition as an opportunity to take into consideration what makes us unique and to remember where our ancestors originated. We do this by tracing our bio-individuality, the unique story that has shaped the way we eat now and give us a roadmap to the way we should be eating for ultimate health.
